New guidance is now available for employers on best practices for managing long term sickness absence. The guidance from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), supported by Public Health England, is designed as a resource for all employers in the UK.

The Business in the Community (BiTC) Mental Health at Work 2019 Report has revealed some shocking findings. Last year, I described the findings as worrying. This year, I am dismayed - because not nearly enough has changed. 2 in 5 employees have experienced poor mental health symptoms due to their work, or where work was a contributing factor.

The Business in the Community 2018 Mental Health at Work report, which findings include although 85% of managers acknowledge that employee wellbeing is their responsibility, only 30% receive any training.
